to authors, photographers, translators and editors
Text
The articles should be 8,000-16,000 characters (including
spacing), as agreed with the national editors.
The text should not contain hyperlinks, illustrations/pictures,
logos, frames, bo-xes etc. - no columns.
Avoid 'bullets', underlining, use only bold to indicate
headings.
Footnotes should be placed at the end of the article
as ordinary text, but try to avoid them altogether.
Graphic tables etc. in spread-sheets should also be
submitted as separate files or in printed form.
Illustrations
Illustrations can be sent as separate files, either on
CD-ROM or as electronically attached file (eps, tiff,
jpg).
If illustrations are sent in for example 72 pixel/inch,
please note that the illustration will be reproduced in
a conside-rably smaller format - about ¼ of the original
size - in the finished print. A digital picture must therefore
in original size be the equivalent of approx. one A4 page
in order to be reproduced as 1/4 page in print. This also
applies to screendumps - and remember that screendumps
are often blurred.
Non-electronic illustrations, photo-graphs, dias and
other forms of printed pictorial material will be scanned.
Please send a print of the logo when one exists.
Mostly for the editors
Bibliographic information is normally not included in
the printed edition of the journal (only if it forms part
of the actual text). It is possible, however, to include
references and links in the web edition, in which case
a reference to this will appear at the end of the article
in the printed version.
The web edition also provides space for further information
about the author, e.g. his CV.
Don't forget:
Captions for illustrations and names of photographer/illustrator.
Portrait of the author.
Permission to publish the article in the web
edition.
